Later on Monday, at 2pm PDT, Apple's Platforms State of the Union will be streamed live. Apple is promising that some "exciting new updates coming to all Apple platforms" will be announced, but the Keynote isn't the only event during the week that may be of interest. It will also be possible to watch the address back once it has finished.
Per Apple, it will be available to watch live on the Apple events webpage, the Apple YouTube channel, the Apple TV app, the Apple Developer website, and the Apple Developer app. Things get underway at 10am PDT on Monday with the Apple Keynote streamed from Apple Park. This year, Apple has largely kept a lid on what will be revealed, but we're expecting to see big changes to iPadOS as a result of the power that first Apple Silicon chip (the M1) can deliver, as well as refinements to iOS, macOS, and watchOS - and no doubt one or two surprises. Last year, for example, Apple revealed that it would be switching its Macs to run on its own silicon chips rather than those manufactured by Intel. It still serves that purpose to some extent, but since the 2000s has been a platform for major Apple product announcements too.
WWDC is an annual event that, as the name suggests, was initially conceived as a way to give developers an insight into Apple's new or upcoming hardware and software so they could work on their own associated projects.
Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2021 kicks off on Monday (June 7) and there's a busy schedule of events that are available to watch for free.
